Have you been sexually harassed at your workplace?
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender. It also bars sexual harassment. Sexual harassment can include sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, nonverbal, or physical conduct of a sexual nature. The anti-retaliation provision of Title VII protects employees who complain of alleged gender discrimination/sexual harassment. Our firm will help pursue claims of sexual harassment and gender discrimination/retaliation.
Has your employer discriminated against you?
Civil rights entitle people to basic freedoms, including the right to be free from discrimination. Employment discrimination occurs when basic workplace rights are denied because of race, age, sex, religion, nationality, sexual preference or disabilities. The Marcus Law Firm will investigate discrimination allegations and help gather the evidence required to prove the claim. We also will advise on the appropriate course of action, including whether litigation is a viable option.
Are you negotiating an employment contract and needing some expert advice?
The Marcus Law Firm can advise you on advantageous language for an employment contract, or we can negotiate on your behalf. We are familiar with non-compete clauses and other contract terms and can explain how they impact you and your job.
Do you feel you have been unfairly paid?
Employers are required to pay employees for all contractual wages and commissions in return for labor or services rendered. The Marcus Law Firm represents workers in wage disputes, including claims for unpaid commissions, bonuses, overtime pay, vacation, paid time off, travel time, comp time and payroll deductions.
