Mr. Uskert was born on August 25, 1947 in Gary, Indiana. Mr. Uskert spent his formative years in Gary and Valparaiso, Indiana. He graduated in the college preparatory program from Gary Andrean High School in 1965. After attending Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mr. Uskert enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1968. He was initially stationed in the continental United States. He served overseas in Okinawa and Korea as a radar technician on the F-102 fighter/interceptor aircraft;. Returning to the United States for his last duty assignment at Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, Florida, he received his Honorable Discharge in May, 1972.
Mr. Uskert continued his college endeavors and received his A.A degree from Gulf Coast Community College (Panama City, FL) in May, 1973. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy degree from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama in May, 1976. At this juncture, Mr. Uskert embarked on a professional health care career in retail pharmacy (licensed in Alabama and Florida) which led to his return to Panama City, Florida where he remained practicing pharmacy until August, 1987.
At age 39, Mr. Uskert was accepted into the 1990 graduating class at Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, an ABA approved law school located in Birmingham, Alabama. Upon graduation, Mr. Uskert completed and passed the Florida Bar Exam and was admitted to practice by the Florida Supreme Court. Mr. Uskert practiced law in a successful civil solo law practice in Panama City, Florida until June, 2006.
Desiring to return to his "roots" and his extended family living in Indiana, Mr. Uskert applied for admission to the Indiana Bar and was sworn in and admitted to practice before all Indiana State courts in August, 2006. He is exceedingly fortunate and excited to now be in his state of birth and in such proximity to family and friends.
After his admission to the Florida Bar, Mr. Uskert maintained memberships in the Florida Bar, the Bay County (Florida) Bar Association, the Florida Pharmacy Association, the American Society for Pharmacy Law and the American Bar Association. Mr. Uskert remained active in the pharmacy arena by engaging in pharmacy relief work for various individual pharmacists and a small pharmacy chain. Additionally in Florida, Mr. Uskert represented and assisted many of his pharmacy colleagues in the legal context in administrative disciplinary proceedings, in assisting with corporate pharmacy organization and representing colleagues in a variety of civil and criminal proceedings. Mr. Uskert maintains his pharmacy licenses in Florida and Alabama. He has recently made application for his Indiana pharmacist license.
Mr. Uskert's memberships in Indiana include the Indiana State Bar Association and the Indianapolis Bar Association; he continues his memberships in the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar and the American Society for Pharmacy Law.
