Parenting Time and Custody

Parenting Time - Also known as visitation, parenting time refers to the time divorced parents are permitted to spend time with their children. Our divorce lawyers help you negotiate agreements tailored to your and your children's best interests. A wide range of solutions is available that will take into consideration the distance parents live from each other, their relationship with their children, schedules, children's extracurricular activities, financial restraints, medical issues and the children's safety.

When negotiation fails to provide a plan agreeable to all parties, we will fight in court for your rights and your children's rights. When parenting time orders are violated, we will go to court to see the orders are enforced. We also can petition the court to modify parenting time agreements when family needs or situations change.

Custody - Custody is often misconstrued as the determination of where a child will live. Custody actually determines who will make decisions for the child regarding religion, education, medical care and other major issues. Custody arrangements can be flexible, with one parent being responsible for some types of decisions and the other parent responsible for others. In joint custody, both parents have an equal say in these important decisions.
